It is with heavy hearts and much love the family announces the passing of Adolfo Edwin Maes on Friday, January 1, 2021 at the age of 87 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Omelia Maes; daughter, Evelyn Stump and husband Patrick Stump; son, Michael Maes and wife Celeste Maes; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Amalia Regensberg; father, Adolfo Maes, Sr.; and son, Christopher Paul Maes. Adolfo was born in Terrero, New Mexico. He lived in Las Vegas, New Mexico where he attended school and graduated from Robertson High School. He then moved to Albuquerque, NM, where he remained a lifelong resident. He was a proud veteran and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He later pursued a career with Sandia National Laboratories where he retired after 35 years of employment. Adolfo will always be remembered for the love of his family, his friends and community. A viewing will be held at FRENCH - Lomas on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church 811 Guaymas Pl NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108, on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.
