Adelico Romero Lerma

March 5, 1921 — February 8, 2022

Adelico (Alex) Romero Lerma, a WWII Navy veteran, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 8, 2022. Alex was born in 1921 in Reserve, New Mexico, to parents, Roman and Adela Lerma. He lived to be 100 years old. Throughout his lifetime, he lived many roles. He was a young ranch-hand, a cowboy, a WWII Navy veteran, an entrepreneur, and a musician. A lucky man, he won the heart of Nettie Gabaldon, who married him and blessed him with six children, whom he inspired to follow their dreams and, being generous to a fault, indulged them well into adulthood. He was an accomplished guitarist who loved to play classical guitar almost as much as he loved reading his Bible. Dad will forever be a huge presence in our lives, and we are grateful to the Lord for letting us have him for as long as we did. Dad is preceded in death by his wife, Nettie; his daughter, Bernadette; and his son, Sammy. He is survived by his sister, Esther; his daughter, Veronica; his sons, Ruben, Phillip, and Teddy; his nine grandchildren; and his fourteen great-grandchildren. Church services will be held on Tuesday, March 15, at 10:00 A.M., at Christian Fellowship Church, 3901 Claremont Ave, NE. Interment will immediately follow (12:45 P.M.) at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 North Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, New Mexico, 87501.
