Adelard (Al) Lucien Rochette, age 85, a resident of Albuquerque, NM for 35 years, died August 10, 2014. He was born in Lowell, MA in April 1929 and was raised there until he joined the Coast Guard with which he served for 20 years. He retired from the Coast Guard in 1967 as Chief Boatswain's Mate, Chief Petty Officer in Newcastle, NH. In 1979, Al and his family moved to Albuquerque. He retired from Kirtland AFB as Superintendent of Civil Engineering after 19 years. Al is survived by his wife, Veronica (Martino) Rochette of Albuquerque; three children, William Rochette of Memphis TN, Richard Rochette of Albuquerque, NM and Veronica Campton and husband Mark of San Francisco, CA; four grandchildren, Joanna Foster, Stacey Valiton, Samuel Campton and Alice McKenna Campton; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Beatrice Rossiter and Parkey Souza and husband Donald, all of New Hampshire. Al was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth; and parents, Adelard and Collette Rochette Pellitier. Al was a lifelong Catholic. He was involved in Knights of Columbus, Civitan, and volunteered at Bear Canyon Senior Center as well as New Mexico Veterans Memorial. His favorite pastimes were walking and fishing. He will be remembered for his kindness and warm smile and dearly missed by his family and friends.
