Adelaide Carroll Tucker

TUCKER, MURIEL ADELAIDE CARROLL went to live with her Heavenly Family on Friday, March 15, 2020 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Adelaide

and her husband, William Moore (Bill) Tucker, were married for 59 years before his death in 2015. She is survived by her sons, John Scott Tucker and wife, Shawna Leann, of Albuquerque, NM, James Mark Tucker and wife, Holly

Renee Magee, of Houston, TX; grandsons, Christopher Vaughn Schirmer and wife, Jaci of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Fletcher Scott Tucker and fiancée, Aryana Martinez of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughters, Sydney Renee Tucker – Harris

and wife, Alexandria Harris of Seattle, WA, Angela Renee Raimer and husband, David; great-grandson, Benjamin Markham Stickline; great-granddaughter, Elissa Renee Stickline, Abigail Elizabeth Raimer all of Galveston, TX., and Josephine Adelaide Schirmer of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Adelaide was born in Roswell, New Mexico on Saturday, July 23,1938 to Muriel Hickox Carroll (Wold) and Cecil Homer Carroll. She is predeceased by her husband, William Moore Tucker; both parents; her brother, Joe Lester Carroll; and her step­father, Arvid Wold.



During her lifetime, she lived in Pasadena, California, Roswell, New Mexico, Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Albuquerque, New Mexico. She and her husband were part owners of Tucker Bros. Shoes and Ladies Ready to Wear in Roswell, New Mexico for many years. After they sold their store, she worked as a Secretary at General Dynamics, Sinclair Oil Co., Texaco Oil Co. and Executive Assistant for Read & Stevens, Inc. (19 yrs.), until the family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she worked for Westman Investments (18 yrs.) and First State/Community Bank (5 yrs.)



While living in Roswell, Adelaide was very active in the First United Methodist Church as well as spending many hours helping her family with their activities. However, her main love after God and her family was the Boy Scouts of America which she and her family worked with together. She spent many active hours for 17 years in Boy Scouts of America holding the Cub Scout leadership positions of Den Mother, Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner, Recruiting Commissioner, Training Commissioner on the local level; Philmont Training Instructor; Training

Commissioner on the Regional and Area levels; and was a member of the Committee to update the Cub Scout handbook, the Committee to modernize the Cub Scout leader uniforms, and was a Cub Scout WoodbadgeTrainer for three years on the National level when this level of training first began. Adelaide was one of the recipients to receive the first National Cub Scout Woodbadge Trainers Award. She was also awarded the Silver Beaver for her accomplishments in Cub Scouting. She was active locally in committees in her sons Boy Scout Troop throughout the years as they grew older.



Retiring after many years of work in Albuquerque, Adelaide volunteered at the Surgical Information Desk at Kaseman Hospital from 2012 to 2019 and also volunteered in the front office at St. John’s United Methodist Church from 2009 to 2019. Although she was very busy through the years, she always found time to attend all events pertaining to her family and church. Her motto throughout her life

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2020, 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, New Mexico.



In lieu of flowers, per Adelaide's request, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Conquistador Council, Boy Scouts of America, Roswell, New Mexico; Youth Ministry, St. John's United Methodist Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico; or Animal Humane Society, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
