Adam K. Schutz, 60, beloved husband, brother, and friend passed away on January 29, 2016. Son of the late Melvin and Rhoda Schutz, Adam was born in Washington, DC and raised in Bethesda, Maryland.
He became a Master Gunsmith before joining the Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Department, where he spent 25 years before retiring to Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was known among his fellow police officers as the guy everyone wanted for their backup.
Adam loved Japanese marital arts. He was a Master Instructor in the martial arts of Tenshin-Ryu Kenjutsu and Yamate-Ryu Aikijutsu, and a mentor to many students.
He will always be remembered for his sharp wit, sense of humor and love of the double entendre.
Adam leaves behind his wife, Jena C. Schutz of Albuquerque, New Mexico, his brother, Dr. Mark Schutz of Bethesda, Maryland and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Dr. Benjamin Schutz.
