Abel G. Coronado

Abel G. Coronado passed away peacefully on May 12^th, 2024, at the age of 83 with his family by his side. Abel was born on January 13^th, 1941, in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, to Manuel and Rufina Coronado. Abel served in the United States Air Force for four years before he joined the City of Albuquerque Fire Department where he worked for 23 years before retiring as a Lieutenant. Abel loved barbecuing, fishing, bowling, woodworking and being outdoors but what he loved the most was spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Rufina Coronado, infant brother Andres Coronado, infant grandson Donald Howard Coronado Jr. and son Mark Steven Coronado. Abel is survived by his wife Gloria of 64 years, daughter Connie Trujillo, son Donald Coronado and daughter Lisa Coronado and his loving in-laws. Abel is also survived by 8 grandchildren – Shanna, Mia, Amber, Manuel, Elizabeth, Ashley, Brittney, Victoria and 9 great grandchildren – Abigail, Iris, Caleb, Serena, Hadley, Lucas, Charlotte, Kaiden and Everleigh, 2 sisters Rosa Sena and Juanita Harris and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Memorial Services will be held at French Funerals located at 10500 Lomas Blvd. Albuquerque, New Mexico 87112 on May 29^th, 2024 at 4:00 pm. Burial services will be held in Fort Sumner, New Mexico on June 1^st, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church located on 443 Richard Street, Fort Sumner New Mexico 88119. Rosary at 9:30 am, Mass at 10:00 am followed by graveside services at St. Anthony Cemetery.
