Abe FineAge 94, a Navy veteran of WW II, passed away at the VA hospital in Albuquerque, NM on July 6, 2012. Abe was born in NYC on February 5,1918. He was the youngest of 7 children of Joseph and Eva (Volk) Fine. He married the love of his life, Jeanette Binder, in 1940. They enjoyed 52 years of married life until Jeanette's death in 1993. He is survived by sons Arthur of Albuquerque, wife Joanne and grandsons Michael and Jason; and Howard and wife Joann of Phoenix, AZ; family members in the NY area and many friends in NY, FLA, IA and NM. Abe worked in the garment industry in NY for 35 years and was active in the Democratic Party in both Nassau County NY & Palm Beach County Florida. In 1950 the family moved from Brooklyn to Wantagh Long Island and in1958 to Massapequa where he lived until 1977 when he and Jeanette followed their sons to Iowa where Abe worked successfully in agricultural marketing. They bought a second home in Delray Beach, Florida in 1983.When Art and his family moved to New Mexico in 1993, Abe and Jeanette followed again. When Jeanette passed away that same year, Abe returned to Florida where he lived independently until moving to Albuquerque in 2011. Abe died from complications following a hip fracture. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the VA Medical Center in Albuquerque for the compassionate care Abe received during his last months in Albuquerque. Donations in Abe's memory can be made to Roadrunner Food Bank in Albuquerque, NM.Graveside services will be held at Beth Moses Cemetery in Farmingdale NY on July 10, 2012.
