Aaron Michael Ohlhausen, age 32, of Albuquerque, died February 6, 2025, after a short battle with cancer.
Aaron was born, May 4, 1992, the son of Tony and Robin Ohlhausen and the oldest child.
Aaron graduated from Albuquerque HS in 2011, and ENMU Roswell in 2013 with a certificate in food service. He began working at Chick-fil-A with the grand opening of the Menaul and Wyoming store in 2015. He took great pride in his work and in serving the customers.
Aaron truly enjoyed life to its fullest and shared an infectious joy with those who met him. He loved the Lord and shared that with others. He liked making people smile and laugh. If you were a special person to him, you were given a specific buddy status.
Aaron treasured his family and having everyone together, especially to celebrate birthdays. Each family member had a special role and place in his heart.
Aaron extended this love to his church family and as an adult became part of the security team to help keep his church family safe.
One of Aaron's favorite summer activities was going to Ponderosa Christian Camp. As an adult he helped with the upkeep of the camp and spent a week every summer working in the kitchen, co-leading calisthenics, and being a part of the Ponderosa Live Team. He was also known as the camp ninja!
Aaron enjoyed sports of all types and began participating in Special Olympics at age six. This community became a huge part of his entire extended family as we all played various sports together. He really liked getting gold medals and blue ribbons! His favorite sports were poly hockey, bowling and bocce. Aaron also enjoyed ski racing and skiing with the Adaptive Sports NM program. He also participated in climbing and canoeing with ASPNM.
In addition to sports, Aaron loved music and played several instruments. In 2013 he joined Expressions of Joy and soon after became their drummer.
Some of Aaron's other favorite activities were spending time with his Gramme building Lego, playing Wii, doing various crafts, and bowling. He loved to spend time hiking and camping with his family. In the last couple of years he loved to volunteer at dog agility trials when his mom was competing, and sleeping in Cahoots (our Airstream).
One of his greatest passions was traveling. He always had travel plans on the books and enjoyed talking about his adventures around the world. He would often tell people "Been there, done that!"
Aaron is survived by his parents, Tony and Robin Ohlhausen, sisters and brother-in-laws, Alissa and Guy Hurtado and Micah and Caden Murphy. His grandparents, Reinhart and Wanda Schelert and Gale Ohlhausen.
