Aaron Albert William Carrillo

Aaron Albert William Carrillo, 35, beloved son, brother, father, partner, and friend passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 13, 2021.

Aaron was born on November 10, 1985, in Las Cruces, New Mexico to parents Lee and Coreen Carrillo of Albuquerque.  Aaron graduated from Sandia High School and subsequently from the University of New Mexico in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology. While attending college, Aaron interned at Sandia National Laboratories and played college sports as a Lobo football player for the 2004 season.  He was a member of the Spanish Honor Society and celebrated his culture.

After college, Aaron was a project manager for some of the largest shipping logistics companies in the United States, including Worldwide Express, Unishippers, One Source Freight, and his own company, Efficient Logistics Inc.  He received numerous salesmanship awards including Rookie of the Year, achieved Platinum Club Member status, Covington Who’s Who Award Winner for Professionals, and won multiple sales contest awards.

Aaron was known for his infectious laugh, big warm bear hugs, and his motto was to not judge others.  He attended El Buen Samaritano United Methodist Church, enjoyed watching football, and loved spending time with his family.  Aaron was an out-going and engaging person who made life-long friends with his childhood buddies Richard Rhodes and Kye Kinzer.  He loved his relatives and cherished big family gatherings.  Aaron’s main focus and the love of his life was his young son, Eli.  The two of them enjoyed time building Legos and working on Eli’s basketball skills.  Aaron and his loving partner Caryn often took all their children on outdoor adventures.

Aaron is survived by his son, Elijah Carrillo; Elijah’s mother, Cindy Castañeda; parents, Lee and Coreen Carrillo; sister and her husband, Kristen and Craig Darnell; nephew, Caden and soon arrival of niece, Cori; grandfather, Willie Carrillo; partner Caryn Martinez and her three beautiful daughters, Brynn, Elena and Kelly Ann.  Extended family includes his Aunt Sylvia and Uncle Louis Sauceda, Aunt Judy and Uncle Jim Lenz, Uncle Willie Carrillo, Uncle Dan Carrillo, Uncle Damon and Aunt Michelle Runyan, Aunt Patricia and Uncle Lee Dickens, and Alma and David Cortez.  His cousins include Charles Lenz and wife Melody, son Jackson and the soon arrival of a daughter to-be-named; Chris Sauceda and wife Ashley, children Malakai, Mikah and soon arrival of Kaia; Jason Sauceda and wife Anjelica, children Matai and Brielle Hope; Jeffery Lenz and girlfriend Danielle Mascarenas;  Jordan Deskin; Anthony Carrillo; Matt Lenz; Alan Runyan and wife Donna, children Valerie and Natalie; Kristine Peabody and husband Dave, children Amanda and Kyle Peabody; Michael Runyan; Joseph Cortez and his children Liam and Ella; and Annelies Cortez. There are many other family members that Aaron also cherished.  He was predeceased by his loving grandparents - paternal Grandmother Hope Carrillo, maternal Grandparents Albert, and Teresa Runyan - and his loving Uncle Scott Runyan.

Funeral Services will be held at El Buen Samaritano United Methodist Church on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Graveside Service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. *The church requests that if you are not vaccinated, that you wear a mask.*
