William Neal Chapman

William Neal Chapman, the cornerstone of our family, passed away peacefully February 7, 2017 at the age of 88. William was known for his selfless giving to others, especially to his beloved wife of 50 years, Barbara Joan. William was born and raised in Clawson, MI. He worked his way up to an assembly line process engineer during his 40 year career at General Motors earning an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in the evenings from Lawrence Technological University. He loved building and racing stock cars, and camping with his sons with the Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his children, Randall and Richard; his grandchildren, Bryan, Christopher, Elisa, Graham, Derrick and Kimberly, and his great-grandchildren, Corbyn and Damyn. Also touching William's life were Robert and Evelyn Fredrick and Clarence and Marble Kitson. William was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Chapman; his brothers, Jack and Bruce Chapman; and his parents, William and Irene Chapman. A public visitation will not be held, as his family wishes for a private memorial gathering. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
