Virginia Brigante, “Gigi”, age 91, beloved and loving mother, passed through the portal of this life to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, December 25, 2017. She is survived in life by her three sons, David Brigante, Steven and wife, Melanie Brigante, and Richard and wife, Michelle Brigante; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Phillips, S. Anthony Brigante, Miles and Carlo Brigante, respectively. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Morgan and brother, William Conte and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Camillo and Bambina Conti; and eight other siblings, and her husband, Samuel of 69 years. Gigi was a homemaker who held jobs as a line worker in a carbon paper producing factory, a waitress, and also a cafeteria worker for Albuquerque Public Schools for fifteen years. She worked her way to Vice President of the Cafeteria Worker’s Union while with A.P.S. She was a long time member of the Italian Club Cultural. Her greatest joy was homemaking and family.
You are invited to attend a Rosary which will be recited on Thursday, January 4, 2018, 6:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with her husband, Sal, in the near future. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Virginia’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association of New Mexico, P.O. Box 21400, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87154.
