Thomas C. (Tom) Melloy, born December 20, 1961, passed from this life surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with colon cancer on Tuesday, November 1, 2016.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas and Benjamin and his step-children, Fernando and Nirvana. He is also survived by his parents, Charles and Jean Melloy; his siblings, Colleen, Pat, Bill and Bill's wife, Dorothy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition he is survived by his girlfriend, Christine Murphy and many loving friends in the racing community.
He was born in Albuquerque, NM into the family of the best known chain of automobile dealerships in the state, where he worked for 37 years. He was an avid racing fan, and has been racing locally and at other nearby tracks since he was 17. He was a track champion and a big supporter of the local racing community.
