Steve Munoz passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at the young age of 54. He was born in Bellflower, California on March 11, 1966.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Trish Munoz and their three sons, Gabriel, Jacob, and Nicholas; his mother, Irene; and cousins, nieces, and nephew.
Steve earned his Bachelor of Science degree at NMSU and his Master of Science degree at UNM, both in Electrical Engineering.
His service to his country with the United States Federal Government started early in his career where he worked for NASA for 3 years. He continued to contribute to the safety and security of our country with the U.S. Department of Energy for 29 years by exemplifying leadership in a variety of positions such as a Nuclear Explosive Safety Chairman and Federal Team Leader for nuclear weapons recovery.
As a giving husband, father, son, uncle, brother, and dear friend of many, he will be greatly missed, always in our hearts, and never forgotten.
A Viewing is open to all who would like to pay their last respects to Steve from 5:00-5:45 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2020, FRENCH - Wyoming.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Rosary following at 6:00 p.m. is limited to family and invited guests only. A link to pray the Rosary with us in the privacy of your own home can be found below with other details regarding his services.
All are welcome to attend the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 9:30 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque.
Burial will take place after the mass, at San Carlos Cemetery.
