Stephen Achim Suazo

Stephen Achim Suazo, beloved husband, father, son, and brother was called to his eternal resting place on August 18, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Rosanna Suazo; daughter, Amanda; son, Aaron; parents, Valentin B. and Annemarie Suazo; brother, Valentin H. Suazo; and sister, Tanya Ozakyol and her husband, Metin Ozakyol.
Steve was born on May 12, 1964 in San Jose, Costa Rica. He grew up in South America and Southeast Asia, attending International Schools and traveling with his parents and siblings. Steve graduated from the International School Manila in 1982 and came to Albuquerque to attend The University of New Mexico where he earned a MBA from the Anderson School of Management. Steve was employed by the State of New Mexico, CYFD, where he assisted families in need with child care services. He loved his work and was most happy impacting the lives of others.
Steve deeply loved his wife and children and treasured time spent with his family; school activities and weekend road trips were among his favorites. He was a true friend to all who knew him. He had the most incredible laugh and smile that would light up the hearts of everyone around him.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday, August 26, 2016, 6:30 p.m. at FRENCH - University. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 27, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at Saint Thomas Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Road NE, with Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Services of New Mexico, PO Box 51735, Albuquerque NM 87181-1735.
