Sabah S. Abbo

Sabah S. Abbo, age 85, beloved husband and father was called to his eternal resting place on Thursday, September 1, 2022. He was born on December 2, 1936, in Baghdad, Iraq to Shawket and Kita Abbo. He is survived by his wife, Olga Abbo; his children, Tony Abbo (Rebecca) and Marina Abbo (Laith); grandchildren, Christopher Abbo (Allison Martinez), Sammy Yousif, Stephanie Yousif, and John Patrick Abbo; and great-granddaughter, Autumn Abbo.
He graduated from Baghdad College in 1954 and went on to attend the Britain's Air School in Southampton, England, where he graduated in 1956 as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
In the mid 1950's, he began his career with Iraqi Airways. Over the next 36 years, he held many positions with the airline and retired in 1992 as Assistant Director General for the Technical Department. Sabah's passion for Iraqi Airways never ceased and even after his retirement he kept in contact with his former colleagues and friends.
In 1993 he immigrated to the United State of America with his wife, Olga Abbo and made his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. From 1994 until his retirement in 2014, he worked at both Office Max and Cost-Plus World Market.
Sabah loved to keep up with world events by listening to the news and reading about them. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and always made them laugh.

Rosary will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., FRENCH – Westside. A Mass to celebrate his life will be on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW - Albuquerque, NM 87114. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE - Albuquerque, NM 87107.
