Ronald Wayne Waitz

Ronald W. Waitz passed quietly at his home on Sunday, October 23, 2022. A happy escapee from the East Coast, Ron savored the dry high-desert climate and the relaxed Southwestern lifestyle since 1993. Besides his wife, Elizabeth Hurst-Waitz, he loved his family, friends, cats, and chickens. Proud to have served in the Air Force for 4 years, he then continued on with a 30 year career with the IRS, originally in Baltimore and continuing in Albuquerque. After his retirement from the IRS, he enjoyed plying his talents and skills at everything from bird watching, to chasing hot air balloons, from environmental activism to neighborhood handyman. He will be remembered as a good man with a kind heart, a great laugh, and a hearty appetite for life.
