Regina Suazo

Regina Suazo, 61, our precious Sister, was called to be with our Lord on December 2, 2022. She entered this world on March 21, 1961 in Embudo, NM, born to Leopoldo and Cecilia Suazo. She is survived by her brother, Silas Suazo; brother, Leo Suazo; sisters-in-law, Janell Suazo and Laura Suazo; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, good friends, "adopted family", her beloved Smurf, and walker, "Missy".

Regina was a loving person, with a childlike heart and an insatiable desire to celebrate life's adventures with her family and friends, including birthdays, holidays, and seasonal events like the State Fair, and Balloon Fiesta. She enjoyed family camping trips and vacations to Disneyland, and summer Day Camps as a young adult with her group home friends and community. She especially enjoyed outings to Starbucks, IHOP, and shopping. She was always shopping for the next piece of fine jewelry, the perfect size purse, or the next favorite stuffed animal, and she loved nothing more than a morning browsing at WalMart or Goodwill, followed by lunch at Cracker Barrel, with an afternoon of pampering on hair and nails.

Regina graduated from Highland High School in 1979, and appreciated the value of a good talking watch, headphones and a Walkman or transistor radio, her record collection with Lionel Richie and the Supremes, and her VCR collection of Disney movies. She was the family historian and was always ready to confirm birthdates or remind us to plan celebrations as they approached.

Regina showed boundless love for babies and small children, and compassion for those who were sick or in need and volunteered with community non-profits to serve whenever possible. Regina was easy to love.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, 2:30 p.m. at FRENCH-Westside. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers in Regina's memory to Adelante Day Programs, https://goadelante.org/donate/.
