Nancy Sherwood

Nancy Sherwood, age 81, devoted mother and grandmother went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 30, 2023. Nancy was a faithful servant to the LDS church and enjoyed working at the temple. Nancy loved spending time with family, traveling the world with friends, family history, spending time outdoors, reading and watching football, and especially the Broncos. She also enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching the young at church. Nancy was a loving, sensitive, organized, punctual person.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Atwell (Elizabeth) and Douglas Atwell (Christine); daughter, Denise Fredekind (Kevin); sisters, Sita Hill and Savita Krause; brothers, Richard Sherwood (Cheryl), Roy Muzumdar, and Ronald Sherwood (Shawnette); grandsons, Nolan Stanley, Michael Fredekind, Brandon Atwell, and Hunter Atwell; and granddaughter, Natasha Fredekind, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Rowena Sherwood (d 1953), D. Cecil Sherwood (d 1999) and Fae Sherwood (d 2009).

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Third Ward, 8130 Sage Rd SW - Albuquerque, NM 87121, with graveside service to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, and lunch to follow back at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to National Breast Cancer Foundation or to the American Stroke Association.
