Nancy Arleen (Hansen) Andersen

Nancy Arleen Andersen (Hansen), 80, was granted her angel wings on November 19, 2022. Her final days were spent surrounded by family.

Nancy Arleen Andersen (Hansen) was born on May 8, 1942 to Laura Jensen and Raymond Hansen in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Nebraska on a farm and went to Notre Dame High School. She worked at General Electric and Kellogg’s in her younger years as well as worked as a manufacturer’s representative for Pankow where she represented several brands: Cheseborough Ponds, Foster Grant sunglasses and many more.

Nancy and Andy moved the family to Albuquerque, NM in 1982.

She started a cleaning business with a business partner which she later sold to the partner. Nancy was the owner of Furniture on Consignment for 20+ years in Albuquerque, NM. She was a determined businesswoman and started with nothing which grew to a successful business and gained many friends. She loved and cherished her husband and many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was blessed with their love as well. Nancy was an excellent cook and baker. Nancy and Andy lived in Arizona for a number of years as well and then moved back to Albuquerque a few years ago.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Alvin Harold Andersen (Andy); sister. Delores Kush (Hansen), and her children: Kimberly Stratton-Wood, Stephanie Patricia Andrews, and husband, Douglas; Michelle Rene Frew and husband, Danny; Susan Kay Hawk; Hank Andersen and wife, Debbie; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her twin boys, Jerry Stratton and Kevin Stratton, in 1961. Mother, Laura Jensen; and father, Raymond Hansen; and brother, Leonard “Bud” Hansen.

Funeral arrangements are with FRENCH-Wyoming, Albuquerque, NM, on Monday, January 9th, Rosary to be held at 10:30 a.m. and Service to be held at 11:00 a.m.. Private burial to follow on Tuesday, January 10th, for family members only at the Santa Fe Memorial Military cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
