Monica Salazar, 45, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and wife, was called to her eternal resting place on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. She entered this world on Monday, May 13, 1974, in Albuquerque, NM, to Gilbert and Isabel Salazar. She is survived by her husband, Saul Nuñez; father, Gilbert Salazar; mother, Isabel Salazar; sister, Deborah Flores; brother-in-law, Gabriel Flores; three daughters, Nikole Deluna (Eddie), Olivia Nuñez, and Raeanne Nuñez; nephews, Jonathan Flores (Janet); Daniel Flores (Mercedes); great niece, Natalie Flores; and grandmother, Lupe Salazar; in-laws, Pablo and Sheila Nuñez; Rosela Blanco, brother-in-law, Erik Nuñez; sister-in-law, Paula Nuñez; as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her.
Monica was an avid Oakland Raiders fan who loved camping and spending time with family and friends. She worked for Presbyterian Hospital for fifteen years.
A Rosary will be recited Thursday, September 5, 2019, 9:00 a.m., at Holy Child Parish in Tijeras, NM, followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. Monica will be laid to rest at 11:00 a.m. at Cañon De Carnuel Land Grant Cemetery. Reception will immediately follow at Carnuel Land Grant
.
Pallbearers will be Gabriel Flores, Jonathan Flores, Eddie Gallegos, Marc Herrera, Art Armbula, Erik Nuñez. Honorary Pallbearers are Kevin Moore and Donny Stafford.
