Michael Baptista, 64, beloved husband, was called home by his Lord and Saviour to his eternal resting place on May 30, 2016. He entered this world on May 28, 1952 in Acushnet, MA, born to John Anibal and Hilda Baptista. He was preceded in death by his father, John A. Baptista and sister, Brenda Baptista. He is survived by his mother, Hilda Baptista of New Bedford MA; step mother, Maryann Baptista of New Bedford, MA; wife, Arlita Baptista of the family home in Albuquerque, NM; sons, Stephen Baptista and wife, Rebecca and Scott Baptista of New Bedford, MA; step-sons, James Mascarenas and wife, Sarah of Farmington, NM, Adam Mascarenas and wif,e Candria of Albuquerque, and Lucas Mascarenas and Danielle Lawrence of Albuquerque; brothers, John Baptista, Allen Baptista, Gary Baptista, Jason Baptista; and sister, Nicole Baptista all of New Bedford, MA; 5 grandsons, Jonathan, Christopher, Anthony, Uriah and Loki; 4 grand daughters, Lyanna, Kloey, Lilly and Gabriella; and numerous nieces and nephews and a great many friends. Known to friends and family as "P.I.T.A." he did everything he could to live up to the name. Michael proudly served his country during the Vietnam war in the Marines from 1970 - 1972. Mike will be cremated and a private graveside prayer with full military honors will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on June 10, 2016. Please do not send flowers, you may make a donation to your charity of choice in Mike's name if you wish to honor him. We will have a gathering for family and friends at the house on Saturday, June 11th at 2:00 p.m. for more information contact Arlita Baptista.
