Michael E. Arbogast

d. April 30, 2017

Michael E. Arbogast, age 36, beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and friend to many left this world as we know it on April 30, 2017.  He was truly our family's cornerstone.

He lived his life by the Nine Noble Virtues in his actions and words: Courage, Discipline, Fidelity, Honor, Hospitality, Industriousness, Perseverance, Self-Reliance and Truth.  From an early age, he had a kind spirit, loving and gentle.  He was born with a gauge that yearned for “Fairness” in all things.  He had a thirst for learning - creatively, intellectually and spiritually.  He spoke four languages and studied many ideologies.  He was not closed minded and found pieces of truth in all.  His studies led him to a greater appreciation of his Norse heritage and ancestral connection to Asatru.  He embodied these principles in mind and spirit as protector, warrior, family member, and friend.  From his studies, he chose to base our family’s pillars of faith,  the legacy he wanted to pass on to his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews: Trust & Loyalty; Self Sacrifice & Justice; Peace & Harmony; Forgiveness & Growth.

Michael's life accomplishments were many, to name a few: he attended NMMI, enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corp, served on Albuquerque Police Department in several capacities, also served on Valencia County Sherriff Office. He held office as Chief of Security for private security and currently held the rank of Captain at Torrance County Corrections.  Michael held many degrees and certifications, such as: Swat Operator, Swat Sniper, Police Instructor, Law Enforcement Fire Arms Instructor, NM Police Officer Certification, and a Master’s of Science in Criminal Justice.  There simply are not words to express the void he has left in our world.

He is survived by his wife, Christina Taylor-Arbogast;  his children, Teaguen, Kaitlyn, Logan, Gabrielle, Michael and Domenique; his grandchildren, Nick, and Liam; his mother, Toni McNeill; sister, Chelsea Arbogast;  brother, Jonathan Arbogast; his grandmother, Carolyn Arbogast; as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Michael was proceeded in death by his father, Jeffery Arbogast; his uncle, Conrad Arbogast; and  his cousin, Gregory Arbogast.  Michael did not live his life in fear of death.  He would not want us to mourn him, but would ask us to celebrate the light and love that he touched us all with.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 12, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH -  Lomas.  A continuation of his celebration will take place 2:30 p.m. located at Ballut Abyad Shriners, 6600 Zuni Rd SE, Albq, NM  87108.
