Mary Ann Torrez

Mary Ann Torrez went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 78 on August 31, 2017. She passed away surrounded by family and listening to her favorite music. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and precious soul to everyone she met. She grew up in a small home in Martinez town with her brothers and sisters. She later was married to Polo Torrez and they had four beautiful children together of whom she took great pride and joy in. She will forever and always be remembered as a dedicated mother, compassionate woman, loving and caring soul that always maintained her class and poise. She loved to cook, baby sit her grandchildren, sew, and be around her family. She took great pride in herself and family and was always there to encourage, uplift and be there for them when she could.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving children, Debbie (Keith) Laidler, Vincent (Polly) Torres, Ana (Ron) Davis, and Desiree (John) Salmon; sisters, Ramona Trujillo, Irene Perea, Frances (Joe) Hammerly, and brother, Phil (Debbie) Perea, as well as her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Carolina Perea, and Antonio Perea; siblings, Olivero and Bobbie Perea, Johnnie and  Sarah Perea, Mary and Manuel Vallejos, Ernestina and Tito Gonzales, Tillie Montoya, Isabel Perea and Raymond Trujillo.

She influenced her children to be strong, hardworking, independent, and loving people just as she was. Our hearts are broken and she will be missed deeply by her loved ones. Her legacy will forever live on through her offspring. We know that we will see her again soon and are forever grateful we had her in our lives.

Rosary will be held Monday, September 11, 2017 at 9:30 a.m., at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW Albuquerque 87114 with a Mass to follow at 10:15 a.m. Inurnment will be held Monday, September 11, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87107.
