Mary Helen Walhood was born May 31, 1931 in Columbia, SC and passed away February 7, 2017 in Albuquerque. She enjoyed many hobbies including ceramics and crafting. She loved all animals and was known for feeding birds and her pet turtles. Mary enjoyed traveling and visited Japan, Holland, Germany and Alaska during her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Walhood Sr.; parents, W. H. "Henry" and Mary Ellen Wells; sister, Edna Earle Wells; brothers, W. H. "Billy" Wells, Robert M. "Bob" Wells; and son-in-law, Richard A. Scales. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Susan Scales; son, Michael Huseman (Pam); sister, Verdie Lewis W. Christmas (Dan); brothers, Wallace R. Wells (Judy) and Monty M. Wells (Sandie); sister-in-law, Mary G. Wells; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by Gordon Walhood Sr.'s children, Gordon Walhood Jr. (Donna), Ginger Hedges (Danny) and David Walhood.
Private family graveside services are planned.
