Mary Leon

Mary E Leon, age 92, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021.  She is survived by her children, Patricia Welty,  Bill Almand (Sheryl),  Jim Almand (Sara),  Cheryl Silva,  Sandra Almand;  step-children, John Leon III (Karen),  Linda Stiker (Bill),  Anna Unale (Sal) and Lisa Boppel (Gregg).  She is also survived by her nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as great-great grandchildren; and many other family including her sister, Joyce De Jesus (Froilon) and her brother, Lloyd Gililland (Dorothy) and many friends.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband John Leon Jr, and her parents James and Sarah Gililland.  Mary retired as a District Manager from Mountain Bell Telephone Company after 21 years. She and John made many dear friends as avid balloonists and in life. Mary loved to travel and be with her family.

Her Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.   Reception will follow the service from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon.   Interment will follow in Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m.
