Mary Catherine McTigue Buck Fordice, 87, beloved wife and mother, was called to her eternal resting place on Friday, September 27, 2019. She entered this world on Monday, June 20, 1932 in Evergreen Park, IL, born to Thomas and Mary McTigue. Mary Catherine grew up on the south side of Chicago, IL where she married James Noel Buck in 1954 a US Naval Aviator, began her life as a Navy wife and was blessed with three children. Widowed in March 1957, she showed her strength and perseverance as she moved back to Illinois with her small children. She met and married James Edward Fordice in 1960, a Naval Aviator, and was blessed with three more children. Enjoying 59 years of marriage as she moved from Naval Air Station to Naval Air Station across the United States many times raising six children by herself as her husband was deployed on long aircraft carrier deployments. They settled in Albuquerque in 1971. She is survived by her husband, LCDR (Ret) James Edward Fordice, sons, Jim Fordice and wife Elaine, Paul Buck, Mark Fordice and wife Sara, and Matt Fordice; daughters, Maripat Silva and husband Randall, and Sharon Fordice; and grandchildren, Lane Glover, Michelle Fordice, Cale Glover, Brianna Fordice and Julian Fordice; and brother, Thomas McTigue. Mary Catherine was a devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. A Rosary will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019, 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH – University. A Mass will be held on Monday, October 7, 2019, 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd NW, 87107. She will be interred on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 11:15 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Arrangements by FRENCH- University.
