Martha Lujan
Martha Lujan, 69, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 2, 2021. Martha was born on March 9, 1951. She was raised in Chamisal, a small town in northern New Mexico. In 1967 she married her soulmate Albert Lujan and, a few years later they moved to Albuquerque to start their family. They had three children; Rodney, Tim and Janice. Martha was also a beloved grandmother to three wonderful grandchildren; Alex, Derek and Alexis. Martha was the pillar of her family. She was always there in times of joy and sorrow. She was fortunate enough to be able to attend every school function and sporting events for her kids and grandkids, and being there for it all was her greatest joy.
She enjoyed spending her days shopping with her daughter Janice and making traditional New Mexico food for her family. You could always count on being fed the most delicious red Chile and sopapillas when going over for a visit.
Martha valued family above all else. There wasn’t a day that went by where she wasn’t talking on the phone with her brothers and sisters, or visiting with her kids and grandkids. Anyone that knew her, knew Martha was the type of person to go out of her way to help anybody. If you needed her you just had to call and she would figure out how to help you. Life without her love and support will never be the same. She will me missed tremendously and will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband, Albert and their children Rodney, Tim Lujan and Janice Trujillo; three grandchildren; Alex, Derek and Alexis; mother, Carlotta Roybal; brothers, Ernesto and Philip Roybal and their wives Dolores and Roseann; sisters, Beatrice Esquibel and Cindy Roybal. She also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father Felipe Roybal, and her three sisters, Mable Valdez and Hazel and Dorothy Martinez. A mass will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 9 am at Risen Savior Church 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE.
