Maria D. Esquibel "Lou"

Maria D. Esquibel (Lou), born November 12, 1930 in Delta, Colorado, passed away April 19, 2017.

Lou worked at Lee’s Dry Goods in her early years. She was also a waitress at Denny’s and Christy’s Coffee Shop for many years. She was a devout Jehovah’s Witness most of her life.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Esquibel of Claremont, California and Leonard Esquibel of Lewisville, TX; her daughters, Teri Esquibel Cheatham of Lewisville, Texas and Linda Esquibel Duckett of Gallup, New Mexico, 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Linda Villalobos. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Esquibel; her sons, Ricky Esquibel, Jeff Esquibel and Glenn Esquibel; her daughter, Donna Esquibel; her parents, Donaciano E. Sanchez and Antonio Crespin; her brothers, Dale, Tony, Julian, Onofre and Raymond; her sisters, Tonita Espinoza, Dora Gonzales, Juanita Sanchez, Alvina Miranda, Bonita Sanchez, Beatrice Valdez, Erma Ryan and Adela Sanchez, as well as her grandparents, Benito Crespin and Albinita Ordas.

The family would like to convey a special thanks to Heartland Hospice and Silva house for taking such great care of our mom before she passed away.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3717 Church Rock Street in Gallup, New Mexico. The family will receive friends and relatives at 1:00 p.m. at Angela’s Cafe in downtown Gallup.
