Margaret Smith

Age 93, from Albuquerque, residing in El Paso, TX, was born August 2, 1923 in Albuquerque, NM and went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth Smith for 62+ years, who passed away in April 2013. She is survived by her brother, James Joy of Sandia Park, NM; sister, Patrica Harrell of Stockton, CA; children, Ron Smith (Sue) of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Kathy Swingle (Steve) of El Paso, TX and Ken Smith (Kathy) of Cumming, GA; grandchildren, Adam Swingle (Lilly Leyva) of Albuquerque, NM, Lindsay Olear (Robert) of Cumming, GA, Heather Swingle (Dusty Rhodes) of Albuquerque, NM, Brian Smith of Cumming, GA and Stacy DiFilippo (Frank) of Yardley, PA; and nine great grandchildren, Olivia Reagen, Tyson Swingle, Abigail Olear, Caden DiFilippo, Jase Swingle, Emma Kate Olear, Hadley DiFilippo, Addison Rhodes and Isis Chavez. She is the daughter of the late Cecilia and William Joy and was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. Upon graduating from Saint Mary's High School, she held various jobs before getting married and raising her family, while continuing to work in Accounting. Her remarkable faith, commitment to family and serving others helped to sustain her during life. A Memorial Rosary will be held Thursday, December 8, 2016, 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, December 9, 2016, 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Road NE. Interment will follow the Mass 12:45 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
