Lucille C. "Lulu" Dauber Padilla, age 58, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, December 23, 2018 after a 15-year battle with cancer. Lucille worked at the Journal Center for 10 years, later working for Presbyterian for 20 years before being diagnosed with cancer in 2004. She was a volunteer for Cancer Services of New Mexico. She was a devoted family woman and loved shopping days in Old Town Plaza. Every day spent with her husband, Gerald, was her favorite day. Home is where Lucille's heart was. She was endlessly selfless and always put others before herself. She is preceded in death by her parents Benjamin Dauber and Priscilla Dauber; brothers, Benjamin Dauber Jr. and Leroy Dauber; brother-in-law, Tony Pacheco; nephew, Vincent Sanchez; and uncles, Moises "Moe" Dauber Jr. and Bernie Chavez. She is survived by her husband Gerald R. Padilla; sons, Andrew Padilla and wife, Gabriela, and Benjamin Padilla and July Gentry; sisters, Jeannette Sanchez and husband, Ralph, and Lilly Pacheco; brother, Ricky Dauber and wife, Tina; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cancer Services of New Mexico in Lucille's name at www.cancerservicesnm.org/donations.
