After a difficult battle with Alzheimer's, Lillie Margaret "Peggy" Panter, age 83, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, was peacefully called to be with Jesus on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 6:57 p.m. She passed while she was surrounded by her loved ones who were singing "Silent Night" to her.
Our Lord brought her into this world on September 1, 1938, to Oliver and Lana King in Charleroi, Pennsylvania. After moving to Wasco, California, to live with her aunt Winona, she graduated from Wasco High School in 1956. She went on to Bakersfield Junior College where she met and fell in love with Marvin Lee Panter who became her beloved husband of 63 years. They had four children - John, Randal, Kristine and Karen.
Lillie was dedicated to her Lord and Savior. Marvin and Lillie were founding members of Campus Baptist Church in Fresno, California and attended there for 32 years. She was a Bible Study Fellowship leader and led many Bible Studies teaching children and women of all ages. Lillie was also a dedicated and remarkable artist. She painted using oils, acrylics, and pastels and her paintings were displayed all over California and in New Mexico. She received many awards recognizing her amazing God given talent and was an SWA Signature Artist and founding member of Alliance of California Artists.
In addition to Marvin, Lillie is survived by her children: John and Angela "Angie" Panter' Randal Panter, Kristine Brandt, and Ken and Karen Esau; grandchildren, Bradley Hill, Rod Rodriguez, Jonathan Cox, Christopher Cox, Sara Kirchner, Lindsey Brandt, Adam Brandt, Paul and Heidi Esau, David and Liana Dueckman, and Steven Esau; and great-grandchildren Isabella Romero and Madi Kirchner.
