John (Paul) Youngblood, Sr., 98, died peacefully at home with his family Sunday, June 30, 2019. Paul served in World War II and retired after 20 years in the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, Medical Corpsman. He was an avid gardener and built a workroom onto his house to work on his many hobbies that he loved such as woodworking, leather tooling, jewelry making, etc.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Madge Youngblood; and his cousin and best friend, Bill Townes (Helen). He is survived by his son, John Youngblood, Jr. (Terri); daughters, Peggy Turner (Doug), and Janet Franchini (Wayne Hand), all of Albuquerque. He was the world’s greatest Papa to seven grandchildren, Greg Youngblood (Kelly), Chris Youngblood (Paige Briggs), Paula Foster (Bruce), Cara Cress (Scott Sample), Scott Franchini (Angela), David Franchini (Stephanie), Joey Franchini (Amanda). He was also a loving Papa to 15 great-grandchildren.
Paul is remembered by his family, friends and acquaintances to be "the kindest man they have ever known.” He kept his great sense of humor until the end. His greatest love was his family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held Monday, July 8, 2019, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH – Wyoming. A private, family interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
