Jean C. Lujan, age 91, of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, with family by her side.
She was born to the late Thomas and Frae Couchman, May 4, 1930, in Niles, Ohio.
Jean graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1948. She married the late Jose Manuel Lujan Jr in 1948, and they lived together in Santa Fe; Albuquerque; Cheverly, Maryland; Annondale, Virginia; and Alexandria, Virginia before returning to Albuquerque.
Jean is survived by four children: Terra Everett, of Albuquerque; Barbara Lujan, of Coleman, Texas; Robert "Jeff" Lujan, of Albuquerque; and Noah Lujan, of Albuquerque. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Jean was predeceased by her loving husband in 2019 and son, James "Jay" Lujan, of Albuquerque in 2014. Jean was a talented artist and loving mother and grandmother. She was quick witted, sassy, stylish, always ready with a smile, and enjoyed traveling on new adventures.
Jean was kind and compassionate, with a ready ear and a shoulder to lean on. She lived by the passage "It is more blessed to give than to receive." (Acts 20:35) and will be remembered fondly by all that were fortunate to know her.
A visitation, rosary, and funeral mass will be held Monday, June 21, 2021, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
The burial will take place after mass at Gate of Heaven cemetery.
In lieu of sending flowers the family asks that donations be made in support of Casa Angelica.
