James Robert Whittemore

James Whittemore, 89, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on November 18, 2021.  He entered this world on October 1, 1932 in Rockford, IL, born to Donald and Marion Whittemore.

He is survived by his spouse, Helen Whittemore; sister, Nancy Herpolsheimer; son, Donald Whittemore and wife Kelly; daughter, Leanne Whittemore and husband Dan Appel; and four grandchildren, Christian, Nicole, Darren, and Caroline.

James served in the Air Force during the Korean War, and later graduated from UNM with a Mechanical Engineering degree.  He retired from General Electric.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 10000 Candelaria Road NE.
