James S. Lovato, 76, was welcomed into Heaven’s arms as he passed away surrounded by his loved ones on October 13, 2018. He was born November 12, 1941 in Albuquerque N.M. and was preceded in death by his parents, Demecio and Josephine Lovato; brothers, Francisco and Nat Lovato; sister, Eutemia Baldonado; sister-in-law, Hope Lovato; brother-in-law, Ted Valdez, and nephew, Joseph Valdez. James is survived by his children: daughter, Dianna Lovato; son, James and wife, DeAnna Lovato; daughter, Theresa Jackson and husband, Phil Jackson; son, Charles Lovato son, Patrick and wife, Joanna Lovato; son, Michael and wife, Madeline Lovato; and daughter, Debra and husband, Antonio Mares. Survived by his eighteen grandchildren: Tianna and Emilio Lovato; James, Eli, and Samuel Lovato; Stephen and Alyssa Jackson; Jesse, Christianna, Avery, and Charly Lovato; John and Sophia Lovato; Antonio, Jacob, and Jazzmyn Lovato; Alexandria and Destiny Mares. Survived by his three great-grandchildren: Elise Lovato, Abraham Lovato and Benjamin Lovato. Survived by his sister, Eileen Valdez and numerous nieces and nephews. He retired as an electrician from the City of Albuquerque and was well known for his hard work. He loved being around his family, hunting, camping, fishing, eating Krispy Kreme donuts with Pepsi, and eating orange sliced candies. He loved to cook food and made enough to feed you and your family for a week, especially tortillas. He was best known for his big heart, how much he loved his family, and making everyone who walked into his home feel welcome. He touched everyone’s hearts in a unique way and will be missed tremendously. Services will be held at The Most Holy Rosary Church located at 5414 Fortuna Rd NW Albuquerque, NM 87105. The viewing will be held at 5:30 PM with a Rosary following at 6:30 PM on Thursday, October 18, 2018. The Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 AM on Friday, October 19, 2018, followed by the burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd. Reception will be held after the burial.
