James Daniel Davis

Lt. Col. James Daniel Davis, 97, a resident of Albuquerque for 57 years, passed away on October 10, 2016. James is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Mary Davis; three children, Mary "Bo" Andrews, John Davis (Cheryl) of Albuquerque, and Jennifer Steinman (Steve) of Canyon, Texas, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Julia Davis; his brother, John, and sister Betty Kellett; his oldest child, Julia Anne Davis, and son-in-law, Wayne Andrews.
James proudly served as a pilot in the United States Air Force for 26 years before he retired in 1969. After retiring, James worked for the City of Albuquerque Engineering Department and enjoyed fly fishing, gardening, and bird watching. He was faithful to his God, his country, and his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
