Gordon E. Hamley, age 60, passed away at University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. He was born on March 8, 1956 in Aurora, CO to Gordon B. and Mary V. (McDonald) Hamley. He was a resident of Albuquerque since his family moved here in 1973.
He worked in the construction business for almost 30 years, and had many friends and acquaintances that will miss him. Gordon's passion was fly fishing; his favorite spot was on the San Juan River. He loved golf, and enjoyed listening to Classic Rock music and loved the Cowboy Junkies. Gordon was a very caring man and would help anyone if he could, including strangers.
Gordon is survived by his loving daughter, Elizabeth Markwell of Brentwood, CA; grandchildren, Julianna and Kaleb Markwell; his parents; sister, Diana Fraiser and husband, Fred of Newton, IA; sister, Mary Van Dyke and husband, Alan of Albuquerque; sister, Laura Ann Rotan and husband, Richard of Allen, TX; eight nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 10, 2017, 8:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Annunciation Parish, 2621 Vermont NE. Interment services will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd NE.
