Eugene Ray, 92, beloved father, grandfather, pastor, and friend went to be with his Lord on Friday, April 1, 2016 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born to R. Minte and John Ray in Heavener, Oklahoma on February 4, 1924.
He lived most his life, 50 plus years, as a pastor to small mission churches in Arizona and New Mexico. He enjoyed playing bluegrass gospel music and was a part of many music groups during the years.
Gene is survived by his daughter Donna M. Velasquez (Joe) of Albuquerque, NM; his three sons, Frankie L. Ray (Sherry) of Kingman ,Arizona, John E. Ray (Phyllis) of Warsaw, Missouri, Wesley G. Ray (Rhonda) of Lindrith, NM; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Jewel Ray and his two daughters, Karen Ray and Frances Richards.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at FRENCH-Westside at 11:00 a.m. with a Service to follow at 1:00 p.m.
Pallbearers; Frankie L. Ray, John E. Ray, Wesley G. Ray, Richard Ray, Logan Ray, Tyrel Ray and Joe C. Velasquez. Honorary Pallbearers; Abner Russell, Chance Russell, Kevin Chapman, and Kristopher Barred.
In lieu of flowers contributions could be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
