Ernie Ray Crawford passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 20, 2020. Born in Guymon, Oklahoma, Ernie moved to Texhoma, Oklahoma, where he was captain of the Texhoma High School football, basketball, and track team. Retiring after working over 33 years as a natural gas buyer in the Albuquerque area, Ernie leaves behind many great friends and colleagues. Ernie was an avid large game hunter who took him all over the western US and most memorably to Africa accompanied by his best friend, Tommy Sanders. The most memorable hunt was when he went to Africa. Throughout his life, Ernie was proud of his numerous trophy mounts and his outdoor lifestyle. Stemming from his family tradition of horse racing, Ernie enjoyed team roping and western riding, always have a special place for his horse Tango. He also loved horses and owned horses for most of his life. Along with Jason, Ernie was a proud supporter of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at New Mexico State University, as an honorarium member.
