Elizabeth M. Karnowsky passed on February 8, 2017 at the age of 93.
She was born in Kokomo, Indiana on 1923. She has a BS in Chemistry from Purdue University where she met her husband of 49 years, Maurice M. Karnowsky. They came to Albuquerque in 1952 where Maury worked at Sandia National Laboratories for 43 years. Elizabeth was a hospital auxiliary volunteer for 30 years. She worked at several hospitals in Albuquerque including Presbyterian and Anna Kaseman.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Karnowsky and outstanding son-in-law, Thomas Lyons; grandsons, Daniel and Nathan Lyons; granddaughters-in-law, Elizabeth Lyons and Diana Garcia; great grandchildren, August and Olive; and her cat, Feisty.
The family wants to thank the staff at Montebello and especially Alice and the kind nurses at Anna Kasman Hospice.
