Edward Ray Wiest

Edward Ray Wiest, age 75, passed into the hands of God on December 26, 2016, after a long illness. Edward, the son of Jodie and Ida Wiest was born on April 12, 1941 in Hobbs, NM. He graduated from Alamogordo High School and Abilene Christian College with an advanced degree in psychology. He then joined the US Air Force where he earned the rank of Captain. He served as an Intelligence Officer in the Vietnam War, stationed at Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base in Thailand. Edward was an avid sportsman and artist. He enjoyed a long career in the highway safety device industry until his retirement.
Edward leaves behind his cherished wife, Roxanne; his beloved children, Heather Crocker and husband, Drew of Fredericksburg, TX, Jarrett Wiest and wife, Nicole of Boise, ID, Travis Wiest and wife, Emily of Denton, TX and grandchildren, Cabel and Chloe Crocker, Deven Wiest, and Jackson, Mia and Maggie Wiest. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Samantha Rivera and partner Dee Ann Briggs of St. Louis, MO, and Paula Rivera of NYC, NY.
Memorial Services will take place on Thursday, January 5, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM at 1:30 p.m.
