Dr. Jane Somsel Rodman
March 20, 1948 — November 6, 2016
Our sister, Jane Frances, also known in her art world as Clancy Frances, passed away on November 6, 2016. Jane was born March 20, 1948 to Clarence and Rita Kessler Somsel.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Sally Somsel Epping and Anne Somsel. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Joan McSweeney (Denis) of Corrales, NM, Mickey Dillon (Bill) of Lake Wylie, SC, Peggy Somsel of Lexington, KY and Katie Somsel-Longmore (Dave) of San Diego, CA, as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Jane graduated from Julienne High School and from the University of Dayton in Ohio. She earned her doctorate in cell biology from Yale University. She spent many hours volunteering at OffCenter, a non-profit community art center.
Services will be held at a later date and time. Donations may be made in Jane's name to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org, or to OffCenter in Albuquerque, www.offcenterarts.org.
