Doris Jean Moore

Doris Jean Moore, age 93, of Albuquerque, New Mexico went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at the home of her daughter, Susan Sexton and son-in-law, Phil Sexton who were by her side. Jeanne, as she was affectionally known, was born on July 29, 1929, in Vaughn, New Mexico to Archie Raymond Boone and Mary Lois Alexander Boone, who preceded her in death.

Jeanne is survived by her brother and best friend, Bill Boone and his wife, Barbara Boone of Amarillo, Texas; son, Bobby Moore of Albuquerque; daughter, Susan Sexton and her husband, Phil Sexton of Roswell, and son, Jeffrey Moore and his wife, Rachel Moore of Albuquerque. Jeanne is also survived by seven grandchildren, Shawn Sexton and his wife, Vanessa Sexton of Roswell, Michael Sexton and his wife, Angela Sexton of Roswell, Regina Moore and soon to be husband, Salvador Aguiniga of Albuquerque, Chance Sexton and his wife, Terah Sexton of Artesia, Cheri Miller and her husband, Oni Miller of Belen, Cherish Sexton of Roswell, and Andrea Moore and boyfriend, J. C. Smoots of Albuquerque. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Jeanne is survived by nine great-grandchildren, Ava Sexton, Brooke Miller, Maci Miller, Brooks Sexton, Tripp Sexton, Kadence Sexton, Savannah Sexton, Cole Sexton, and Carter Moore Martinez and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her as well.

Jeanne was known as Mother, Grandmommie, and Great Grandmommie by her family whom she loved and adored with all her heart. She embraced every opportunity to share her life with them. Jeanne really enjoyed spending time cooking, having family gatherings and traveling with friends and family. Jeanne particularly enjoyed spending time in the mountains camping and fishing. Jeanne enjoyed reading Readers Digest and other books and doing crossword puzzles. She was also a collector of windchimes, turtle figurines and jewelry, and adorned her refrigerator with kitchen magnets.

Jeanne resided in Vaughn during her early years where her father worked for the railroad. Her father transferred to Clovis, New Mexico where she graduated from Clovis High School. After graduation, Jeanne moved to Albuquerque where she started her career working for Albuquerque National Bank which was bought by Bank of America and retired from there. Jeanne was a devout Christian and was a member of the Montgomery Blvd Church of Christ and later the Northeast Heights Church of Christ where she enjoyed singing for weddings and funerals as well spending time with numerous friends she worshipped with. Jeanne was full of compassion, patience, joy, kindness, generosity and love. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 4:00 p.m., Northeast Church of Christ, 11000 Paseo Del Norte NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122.
