Dora Alice McBride, 91 was called to her eternal resting place on February 4, 2017. Formerly of Mauldin, South Carolina, Dora lived the last 3 years of her life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on May 19, 1925 in Tecumseh, Nebraska, the daughter of Arthur W. Clineburg and Edith M. Ellsworth Clineburg, graduating from Tecumseh High School in 1942.
On October 27, 1956, Dora married Joseph R. McBride, beginning a long and happy life together. Mr. McBride was an electrical engineer who beginning in 1976 managed McBride Engineering in Greenville, a consulting engineering firm which he founded prior to his passing in May of 1986. Dora worked as a Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant there, and continued with its successor, Advanced Automation Corporation, finally retiring in 1998. Dora was also a loyal and active member of the Laurens Road United Methodist Church in Greenville, where she served as church Bookkeeper for many years. In December 2013, due to health difficulties, Dora relocated from South Carolina to spend her remaining years living in her daughter's home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Dora McBride is survived by two children. A son Brad lives in Mexico City and a daughter Judy (Doug) Sutton resides in Albuquerque. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Ian Sutton and Sarah Sutton, as well as two sisters, Elizabeth Hunter of Covington, Georgia and Darlene Herdlitchka of Plattsmouth, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Pauline Mahoney as well as her husband Joseph R. McBride. While Mrs. McBride's family is grieved by her passing, they are comforted by the promise of redemption, rebirth and eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.
Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Laurens Road United Methodist Church at 13 Webster Rd, Greenville, South Carolina 29607.
