Dolores (Lola) Torrez

Dolores (Lola) Torrez, age 79, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 2, 2020.  Lola was born March 3, 1940 in Cebolla, NM, the daughter of Faustin and Isabel Martinez.   Lola married the love of her life, Joe M. Torrez, on December 26, 1959 at the San Jose Catholic Church in Los Ojos, NM.  After graduating from Tierra Amarilla High School in 1958, Lola helped her husband Joe run a business, Torrez Oil Company, in Chama, NM for 47 years, while dedicating her life to raising a family and helping others.  She was proceeded in death by his parents, two granddaughters, JamieJo Torrez and Amyah Archuleta, her husband, Joe, and a sister, Faustina Espinosa.  She is survived by her children, Joe M Torrez, Jr. (Deanetta),  James Torrez (DiAnn), and Carol Torrez of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, Michelle Torrez, Jameson Torrez (Chrystal), Hunter Torrez (Desiree), and Savannah Torrez (Sofie); and four great grandchildren, Abram Saavedra, Diego Torrez, Gianna Archuleta, and Xavier Torrez. She is also survived by three brothers, Pablo J. Martinez (Jan), Humberto Martinez (Lucy), Antonio Martinez (Teresa), and two sisters, Olivia Valdez (George) and Ramona Quintana (Felix).  She also leaves many cherished nieces, nephews, in-laws, God children, cousins, and friends. A rosary and funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM.

After the services, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Lola will be interred, along with the cremains of her late husband, Joe. M.
