Diana G. Quintana, 87, beloved mother, was called to her eternal resting place on February 7, 2017 after a brief illness. She entered this world on September 22, 1929 in Albuquerque, NM, born to Raphael Lucero and Beulah Gonzales. After her father's passing at an early age, she was raised by Beulah's second husband, Steve Gonzales, who was a loving and devoted father.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, N. Tito Quintana. She is survived by her son, Roland Quintana (Denise); and daughters, Marla Tiers (Michael), Karen Barreras (Jaimey), and Kim Samson (JR). Diana was also a beloved grandmother to her four grandchildren, Tracy, Lindsay, Emily and Dale; and step-granddaughter, Jessie. Diana went to Albuquerque High and graduated with a teaching degree from UNM. She was an elementary school teacher for many years and after raising her family, went back to substitute teaching at APS. Diana was active in the Albuquerque Symphony as a young adult and later in life was an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society as she was a two time cancer survivor.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, March 10, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
