Debra (Syme) Vahabzadegan

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Debbie who left us on the evening of Sunday, February 28, 2021. We have lost a wonderful daughter, mother, sister, auntie, and friend who will be missed forever. She was a warm, generous, smart, talented, and creative women with a great sense of humor. Debbie leaves behind her dear son, Patrick; mother, Pat Syme; sister, Valerie Anderson; and special friend, JR Stevens. She was a much-loved auntie to James (Raquel) and Luke Anderson. Sadly, she recently lost her beloved father Dave Syme.

Deb grew up in Albuquerque graduating from El Dorado High School in 1980 and then attending UNM. She spent the next years of her life in Oklahoma before returning to New Mexico in 2018. Debbie loved cooking for and entertaining friends and family, decorating her home and garden, traveling to the UK to visit her family there and dedicating her life to caring for her son Patrick, including his academic goals, and golfing career. She loved music, old movies and tv shows, the Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma Thunder, and Lobo Basketball.  Goodnight and rest in peace our dearest Deb. You will live forever in our memories and our hearts.

A celebration of Debra’s life, together with that of her dad’s will be held later in the year.
