Charles DeWayne Crosson, age 94, died Monday, December 26, 2016. He is survived by his children, Elizabeth Vannah and husband, Nathan, and Charles D. Crosson, Jr. and wife, Josephine; five grandchildren, Daniel "Kip" East and wife, Marsha, Dusty Muscato and husband, Dave, Tracy Villanueva and husband, Tony, Lori Drake and husband Andrew, and Charmaine Crosson; great-grandchildren, Benjamin East, Anthony Villanueva, Zachary Muscato, David Crosson, and Aiden Drake ; nieces and nephews; numerous friends; and his beloved dog, Rosie. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Grace Crosson; his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Crosson; and siblings, Treva, Eulala, Willard, Catherine, John, and Mildred.

He was born in 1922 in Independence, KS and graduated from Independence High School. Charles then moved to California for a short time before entering the United States Navy where he proudly served during World War II. After the war, Charles attended Pittsburg State College from 1949 to 1952 where he obtained his BA in Industrial Arts. Charles then worked for Coleman Company in Wichita, KS as a Researcher. He and Elizabeth moved their family to Colorado where he taught briefly, shop and English in Penrose, Colorado and Florence, Colorado. Charles then worked for Cleaners Hanger Company in Pueblo, CO as a Bookkeeper for many years until the company moved to Texas. At that time he went to work for and Air-Gas Company driving a truck for a short time before going to work for Digby out of Denver, CO. Charles then worked as a maintenance man and carpenter in Lakewood, CO. His final job was with A.S. Horner Bridge Builders as an office manager until his retirement. Charles loved being a rock hounding, bowling, and working on his 1961 Triumph, TR3. He never had a bad word to say about anyone, always looking for the best in everyone. Charles was always happy, never complaining about anything. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be Wednesday, January 4, 2017, 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH- Lomas with ennichment of cremated remains to follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charles' name to any VFW Post.
