David Hunt ""Dave"" Nicholson

David "Dave" Hunt Nicholson, 76, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away, Friday, August 19, 2016 at his home.
Dave was born May 14, 1940 in Richmond, Indiana to Hubert and Martha (Hunt) Nicholson. On August 15, 1970 he married Debra "Debbie" Janeanne Nicholson in Albuquerque.
Dave was employed as an awning salesman/installer/designer and soon after opened his own business, "Daveco Awning Co." with Debbie which they operated for 18 years. He was a cantankerous cowboy with a huge heart and a gallant work ethic, only retiring a few years prior to his passing. He thoroughly enjoyed attending church, talking with strangers, singing in the church choir, reading/watching westerns and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Dave is survived by his three children, David Michael Nicholson and his wife Jennifer of Wray, CO; Frank Samuel Nicholson and his wife Katie of Albuquerque, NM; and Heather Michelle Bottomley (Nicholson) of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren, Adam, Neleh, Meghan, Cordelia, Xayla, Jason and Ava; two great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Sky; his sister Elinor Bates and brother Philip Nicholson of Albuquerque, NM, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Martha Nicholson. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at Grace United Methodist Church, 420 San Lorenzo NW. Memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church.
