Dale Knudsen, 97, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away December 28, 2018. Dale Knudsen was born and raised on a farm, attended a one-room rural school for 8 years, graduated from high school, and received degrees in higher education. Dale was a veteran of WWII where he was seriously injured in action in the European Theater. Following his discharge, he earned a BS Degree in Chemical Engineering and an MA Degree from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. From 1952 until retirement in early 1987, Dale served as Pastor of Lutheran congregations in Los Alamos, NM; El Paso, TX; and Albuquerque, NM. On August 14, 1950 Dale married Fern Bohlken in Coleridge, NE. He is survived by his loving wife, Fern Knudsen; two daughters, Noreen Knudsen and LeAnne Knudsen; daughter-in-law, Mary Knudsen; granddaughters, Rose Knudsen (husband Sascha Brauer) and Rachel Joyce; grandson, Ben Knudsen; great grandchildren Marianne Joyce, Alice Joyce, Leonard Joyce, Theodor Brauer, and Iris Brauer. Dale was preceded in death by his son, Paul Knudsen. Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Lutheran Church, 4800 All Saints Road NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120.
